Coronovirus Protocols

Our team has implemented new protocols to keep our staff and patients safe during the Coronavirus outbreak. Please review the new measures we have implemented prior to your appointment. If you have any questions with regards to this protocol please feel free to contact us.

Check In

All adult patients must wear a mask upon arrival and when instructed. Children are highly recommended to wear masks, but we understand that some children are not able to. Upon arriving at your appointment, we ask patient to wait in their car and call the clinic to check-in. COVID Screening Questionnaire will be completed over the phone. Once we are ready for you to enter the clinic, we will call you. Patient temperatures will then be taken. Patients with temperatures higher that 100.4 F will have their appointments rescheduled. Patients will then be asked to wash their hands. A team member will escort the patient to the clinical area whereby patients are asked to rinse with a hydrogen peroxide rinse. This rinse is for patients aged 13 years and older. We have implemented longer appointment times to allow for this check-in process.

Check Out

We are trying to minimize any potential forms of contamination between staff and employees. We have decided that for the next few months, we will not be accepting paper checks or cash. Credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and other contactless forms of payment will be accepted. When using these forms of payment, we have also eliminated the need for a signature too. Also, we would limit the number of paper statement being sent out monthly, instead we will start transitioning to emailed statements with a link to pay online. Please inform our staff if you are interested in digital statements.

Insurance

We ask all existing patients that have had changes in their insurance plans to inform a staff member ahead of time. Insurance verification is a lengthy process and we prefer if we can verify all the information prior to your appointment. Due to the longer check in process, we can no longer verify dental insurance the same day of your appointment. We would like at least 2 business days notification prior to your appointment, otherwise your dental appointment may be rescheduled.

Patient Forms

In an effort to reduce contamination of pens, papers, and clipboards, we have implemented digital forms. All new patients will be sent forms via email and text message for completion prior to their appointment. We ask that patients complete these forms in a timely manner. We understand that there maybe some patients that are unable to access the forms through these ways, in this case we request patients to arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment time to fill out paperwork.

Infection Control

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we will be following in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. In the next several days we will be making drastic changes to begin using state-of-the-art equipment that will make your visit to the dentist a safe one. Here are some of the changes you will notice during your next visit:

  • A large plexiglass guard at our reception desk. This will provide a safe barrier between patients and employees.
  • Four state-of-the-art Surgically Clean Air purifiers in the clinic. There will be one in each clinical room and one in the reception area.
    • Surgically Clean Air’s purifiers use multi-stage air purifying technologies that work together to clean, purify and re-energize the indoor air. The six-stage filtration system captures dust particles, pollen, volatile organic chemicals, gases, mold, allergens, viruses, odors, bio-aerosols, and many other pollutants.
  • Additional dental suction units will be installed. These suction units will be utilized during your dental appointment to catch aerosols generated during a dental procedure.
  • An aerosol disinfectant will be sprayed in the reception areas and clinical rooms to kill any lingering bacteria and viruses in the air.

Guests

At this time, we are encouraging patients not to bring guests to their appointment unless absolutely necessary. Children may be accompanied by one one adult for their appointments. We cannot accommodate any additional guests, as our waiting room is only available for limited use.

Prior to your appointment, we require all patients to complete a simple COVID Screening Form. This form is necessary for your visit. We request that this form be completed 24 hours prior to your appointment. Failure to do so will result in your appointment being rescheduled. All patients bringing a guest with them during their dental appointment will also need to have the questionnaire completed.
